Shri Harish Kumar Goel:

 Shri Harish Kumar Goel was born in 1970 in Farukhnagar, a town near Ghaziabad. His father is a reputed advocate of Ghaziabad and mother is house wife. He did his schooling from Ghaziabad. He did his BSC and LLB from Meerut University. After law, he started practice in Ghaziabad District Court and in a span of just two years he established himself as a leading advocate in civil matters.

Shri Harish Kumar Goel cleared Madhya Pradesh Higher Judicial Service and Uttarakhand Higher Judicial Service in year 2008 with 2nd and 3rd rank respectively. He joined the service on August 30, 2008 in District Haridwar as Additional District and Sessions Judge. While in this position, he had additional duties as Special Judge for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, Special Judge for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and Special Judge for Gangsters Act. While holding this post, he was also in-charge of the Law Secretary of Uttarakhand Public Service Commission from 2010 to 2012. He also served as Additional District and Sessions Judge Almora from 2012 to 2015 and first Additional District and Sessions Judge of Dehradun from 2015 to 2016. He also served as Principal Judge Family Court Dehradun, District and Sessions Judge Rudraprayag and Chairman, Uttarakhand Commercial Tax Tribunal.

He took the charge as Director, Uttarakhand Judicial and Legal Academy on 17.04.2023. 

Due to his interest in studies, while working as a judge, he obtained the degree of LLM from Kurukshetra University in 2012. During nationwide lockdown due to the global pandemic Corona virus from 22 March 2020, judicial work regularly stopped.  He utilized his time in writing a book on women rights namely ‘Women law and empowerment’.
